Instant Loves / Elancharan Gunasekaran

it’s frightening how we used to be two and we became ones
left to the stars to decide who should be a third in this triangle

three-way of a dilemma produced by the fate of gods the overturning of casino tables and the breaking of fanatical threads I still glance at my watch

and wait for you to arrive and just before you do I imagine slitting my throat
bleeding it all out over the green fields I imagine a place filled with crimson

and laughter rain of fire setting human stick figures on fire I imagine us to be real
and not as real as we used to be I imagine we could do better than to be sane

and instead of saving us the humiliation of a forced relationship one not
decided by us I imagine reimagining the world as a cup of instant noodles

that requires boiling water poured down its throat and heated and heated
and waited and stirred till our flesh softens and the flavor is added to

the copulation of powder and water stirred till the mixture is perfect and ready
and dying to ejaculate I imagine us to be that very imperfect thing we perfectly

sought out to be and I may not be imagining it this time but I truly believe
that we were meant to be like water powder noodles instantly cliquing
ready in minutes slurped down in haste.
