I take a sip of summer solstice
in a crystal chalice I couldn’t recall I had.
Its grooves fairly fitting the aesthetic of this evening
in a rather exquisite & shimmering way. The light
in the room at times flares up, detours—a glint
that seems to tango over el Río del Plata, or rather
in a parlour facing the Casa Rosada—waves
of scarlet hems licking the parquet flooring.
A figure seems to lurk in the shadow my dance—
or is it already the effect of this Aperol Spritz?
I drink and dance on my own with my vintage glass,
I watch it glitter as a disco ball—un vitrail
presque art déco, presque art nouveau—yet wondering
Is he framed or watching me through the window? Est-il moi ?
