In ancient Egypt, the god Anubis weighed the heart of a recently deceased person on scales – if it weighed lighter than the feather of the goddess Maat, the person were granted access to the afterworld.



Katy Wimhurst’s first collection of short stories, Snapshots of the Apocalypse, will be published by Fly on the Wall Press. Her fiction has previously been published in many magazines and anthologies. Her first visual poems appeared in Talking All the Time about Strawberries. She is housebound with the illness M.E.
