the music keeps us from falling on
the wrong side of the night
& so we sway & sway
bodies fluid under neon lights
the writer amongst us steps into
the outer darkness to speak to her editor
who she happens to also fuck twice a week
& when she returns we are not
sure if it is the cold air outside making her
eyes water or it is the joy of being
back to that shared moment so
absolute in its perfection
