Let There Be Light and Rhyme / Karlo Sevilla

The sun
a projectile fired from a gun.
Pierced firmament
with searing element.
But no exit wound for sky
that didn’t flinch nor cry:
the cosmic lead
perpetually embedded.
Its radiant light
dispels night.
Its rays flood
Earth with yellow blood.
