fingers on my shoulder / Jerome Berglund

nails unpolished
hand gently squeezing
grasping the deltoid
as you would cup
a baby bird or an egg,
someone splendid
who long ago elected
to be cropped from that frame
forevermore,
just a few errant
stray claret wisps
in the lower
left corner remain
