The Other Place / Ilisa Fonua

There lives my heartbreak and my happiness

My freedom and my torment

Its rising and falling surface

At once filthy and lush with green

Cleaved out some of my heart

To selfishly soak in memory

Of those gold and steadily purple sunsets,

Of those that shared my laughter

And those that brought discomfort

The neon lights that flashed upon my enjoyment

And my humiliation

The halls that I walked proudly with the strength at my side

And crossed with fallen tears

My other home
